I revised the code for my Automatic Improviser based on “Kids’ Games”, n°1 “Fanfare”. Composed by Gérard Massini. Now you can choose a tempo and oscillator types.

Kids’ Games was composed as an educative piece that allows up to 4 kids to play the piano at the same time. The rest of the parts were written for 4-6 and 8 hands. But “Fanfare” was transformed into an algorithmic approach with the students, allowing them to play together with only a few simple rules. This was the score shared by all students :

I won’t tell you the rules, but I implemented them into the improviser and then some. It can expose the theme using 2 to 7 voices, remove voices one at a time, modulate to Major or minor or idle. It randomly chooses one of these objectives.

The other parts of Kids’ Games were more classical scores arranged for 4-6-8 hands. I played a solo version so they could practice. Here are the remaining parts :
